Why do you need a right angle when working with tangents?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

The trig functions, sine, cosine, and tangents are all based off of a right-angled triangle.

Without the right angle, you would not be able to figure out the sine, cosine, and tangents. This is also when sohcahtoa comes into hand.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions. Leave a positive review if you are happy!
