Ann is driving down a street at 55 km/h. Suddenly a child runs into the street. If it takes Ann 0.75 seconds to react and apply the brakes, how many meters will she moves before she begins to slow down?  If she slow down at state of 1.5m/s2, how long will it take her to stop?

55km/hr = 15.28m/s

d= 15.28m/s *0.75 +1/2 *1.5* (0.75^2)

d= 11.46m + 0.42

d= 11.88m

 IGNORE THE FIRST

how many meters will she moves before she begins to slow down? 

d=vt

55km/hr = 15.28m/s

d= 15.28m/s *0.75 = 11.46m

 If she slow down at state of 1.5m/s2, how long will it take her to stop? 

acceleration = final velocity -initial velocity/time

time = 0-15.28m/s/-1.5m.s^2 = 10.187seconds
