i need help with solving this equation: 2/3x - 1/5= 1/2x + 5/6

The book gives me a different a different answer than what I got the book says is 31/5 but I get 13/4 and i multiplied one side by 15 and the other by 12

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

2/3x-1/5=1/2x+5/6

collect like terms together;

2/3x-1/2x=5/6+1/5

1/6x=31/30

1/6x*6=31/30*6

X=31/5

The answer given in the book is right

thanks that helped but how did you get

I multiplied both side by 6 so that I remain with X on one side

okay I see thank you!!

In case you have other questions I will be willing to help
