 A local store was hiving a sale on towels, the new price was $27 each , later that week, the store remarked the towel price back to its original price of $38 each. what was the percentage increase in the towles

New Price is $27 Original price was $38

Percentage increse is difference between the two prices expressed as a percentage of the original price

In our case, the new price is the one being adjusted to become the old price and so the original price now is $27 and the new price is $38


Increase = 38-27

=11

Expressing 11 as a percentage of the original 27 gives us 11/28

= 0.392857143 

Converting to a percentage gives

0.392857143  x 100

39.2857%

Round of to two decimals

= 39.29%
