a) earths average distance from sun is 1.496 *10^11 m 

   Time taken by earth to revolve around sun =365 days =365*24*60*60 s=31536000 s

average speed =average distance/time

                          =1.496*10^11/31536000

                          =4743.78 m/s




b) average velocity = displacement / time. 
Over a period of one year, the displacement is zero, therefore the average velocity is 0
