Find three consecutive integers such that 5 less than twice the second is the same as 12 more than three times the third.

The first goal is to set up what you do know.

We know that there are three consecutive integers, but we do not know what the three integers are.

So call, them

x , (x+1) , (x+2).

We know that

2(x+1)>5

2x+2>5

2x-3>0

And

12> 3(x+2)

12>3x+6

0>3x-6

Also

2x-3=3x-6

-x=-3

x=3

3,4,5
