 Where t = age 

            N/No = ratio of no. of present parent atoms to original

          T-half = half life of decay

Here when parent-daughter ratio is 50-50

(N/No)= 50/100 =1/2

ln (N/No)= ln (1/2) = -ln 2

                               = - 0.69314

So the relationship becomes

t = - (T-half/0.69314) ln(N/No)

   = - (T-half/0.69314)(- 0.69314)

   =T-half
