The United States is one of very few countries that have not officially adopted the metric system as a routine system of measurement. Do you think that the U.S. should officially adopt the metric system? Why or why not?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

Yes the United states should officially adopt the metric system. The metric system is recognized by IUPAC as the accepted standards of units in chemistry. The adoption of the metric system by the US would thus make the system completely universal and reduce errors associated with conversions. It would thus make trade and measurements easier to carry out

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
