Introduction
Organizations are usually entities in which there are daily interactions of different
individuals who have different personalities and personal life problems as well. The employees
in most cases transfer their personal life challenges to the workplace and this creates great
commotion in how the relationships between the individuals in an organization and this,
therefore, brings in the issues of politics, conflicts, and power in an organization all of which
happen as a way of creating stability and a smooth operations of an organization (Schirmer, &
Geithner, 2018). Power, in this case, is usually seen as having control and authority of the
activities of certain individuals in the organization. Politics, on the other hand, refers to the
personal behaviors in relations to other individuals and which usually affect the relationship
among people in an organization as they are activities seen to be of personal benefits. The last
item is conflict, and this is seen as the clash between the ideas of the different parties in an
organization.
CONFLICT- CAUSES AND RESOLUTION
My research on the power conflicts and politics in organizations is on the Saudi Electric
Company (SEC).
Conflict Causes
Conflicting interests for the employees. At times, employees might find that their own personal
goals are in constant clash with the purpose and aim of a business and this leads to dilemmas
since one has to put the goals of the organization ahead of their own personal issues (Mathuva,
2015).
