In computing, there are different crimes that are committed either intentionally or
unintentionally. However, all these crimes lead to the interruption of the usual functioning of the
computer systems and networks. These crimes are categorically classified as cybercrimes. This
paper focuses on the Denial of Service as a form of cybercrime, in particular, volumetric attacks
and application-based attacks.
When a Denial of Service attack occurs, the intended user of a computer is unable to
access the available resources in a certain network. This is because the host that is connected to
the internet has been disrupted. The connection of the internet is made possible by overloading
