Introduction

The ethical dilemma is the conflict that may arise between competing goals values and
ethical standards. Ethical issues may have legal consequences because of the professional
standards violations. The dynamic nature of individuals and their ethical beliefs can affect the
nursing practice especially the care provided to the patients. These dilemmas may prove to be
barriers to the nursing practice for the APN. The APN standards require that the best services are
given to the patient from an administrative perspective as well as educator and practitioner points
of view. These standards should adhere to respect for the patient's autonomy, beneficence, the
obligation not to harm the patient and the obligation to treat the patient fairly. In this article, I
analyze how ethical dilemma can affect the education, administration and the practitioner of the
nursing profession.
