Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
Well I understand how it feels to be unable to figure out what to do in such a case. I will provide you with some materials to help you figure out what you can do. I will also give you links of where to find a detailed tutorial to solve the stalemate. in case you wont be able to do it by yourself, you can post the question here, let tutors have a look at it and then they can solve it for you.
Start here with my example :
John bought 5 pairs of trousers and a 10 shirts for $200 and Tonny bought 20 pairs of trousers and 5 shirts for $250. Find the price of a pair of shoes and a shirt.
let shirt be s and Trousers be t
20t +5s= 250
We can eliminate one equation, say the first one by expressing t in terms of s
5t = 200-10s
Replace it in the other eq
From here you can represent it in a graph by plotting the graph of the two lines, and the explanation you give is: The price of each is determined by the value of x, or y on the plane where the two lines meet.
