Students will write 2 topic papers based on material from the Knight and Hall books. These papers are in-depth discussions of the topic assigned. Papers are approximately 5 pages, double-spaced, 12-point Times New Roman font, and 1-inch margins. Each paper is valued at 90 points and must cite the Knight and Hall books (and others) using APA format and must be error-free.

Focus on Chapter 2 in Knight.

Writing topic: You are presenting to a group of your area colleagues and presenting a justification for the need for instructional coaches. Write a persuasive paper about the need and importance of instructional coaches. Include any material from the course, Knight, or Aguilar, but focus the majority of your attention on the Knight book. Be sure and include how instructional coaches get started with the coaching process. Define starting point for your colleagues. What does it mean? What does it look like? Incorporate the importance of creating partnerships.

Instructional coaching is an activity that is getting popular in most schools all over the
world. It has turned out to be a successful model that enhances the continuous development of an
individual's career. It can be described as an activity that involves a trained expert who helps
teachers adopt new teaching strategies and how to provide performance feedback. Instructional
coaching is conducting with an aim to support accurate and continued implementation of new
techniques that can be used in teaching. Also, it reduces the sense of isolation as instructors can
feel when implementing new teaching ideas and practices.
Instructional coaching is significant to the teachers who go for it because it helps them in
determining the section of curriculum that will need integration of technology. Also, it helps to
participate, teach, to show lessons that integrate technology, examine what worked perfect and
the one that did not work as well as the way a lesson or an activity can be improved in future
hence making it more effective (Teemant, Wink & Tyra, 2011). Furthermore, it helps instructors
to arrange equipment's in the classroom for easy access by the learners.
According to Jim Knight, instructional coaches are important. This is because the
instructional coaches focus on the best practice; since teachers are always busy, they need some
help for understanding their needs. Therefore, an instructional coach can assist instructors in
focusing on personal needs in the classroom (Knight, 2009). They look for useful resources that
help in bringing growth and development in teaching and learning, and they assist educators in
getting a level where they are sharing the best techniques with others.



Additionally, they unite colleagues. There are a lot of good examples of teaching and
learning practices that are available in the same school but since teachers meet only during
curriculum or faculty meetings, teachers from the same school do not get chance to share their
ideas. In this case, the instructional coaches get in to reduce the gap by first identifying the
teachers using different but effective technique then bring them to share their practices (Teemant,
