Equation 2: y=6x-1

Notice equation 2 is in terms of y=6x-1.

Substitute equation 2 into equation 1

5x+2(6x-1)=5/6

5x+12x-2=5/6

17x-2=5/6 (add two to both sides)

17x=17/6 (divide by 17 to both sides)

x=1/6

Substitute x=1/6 into equation 2

y=6(1/6)-1

y=1-1

y=0

Thus the answer is x=1/6, and y=0
