what are the coordinates of the image of (a,b)?
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
In x-y coordinate system a point is represented as (x, y), where x-axis is the horizontal and y-axis is vertical
The point (a, b) means a is x-coordinate and b is y-coordinate
translation 4 units down means b goes to (b-4) and a remains untouched
The coordinates of the image is (a,b-4),
Any vertical translation does not change the x-coordinate.
In the same manner any horizontal translation will not change y-coordinate.
