Our problem:

x+y=-1

x+4y=-4

Step 1: First look to see if the x's or y's have the same coefficient...The x's do, so all we have to do is simply subtract both equations from each other

x+y=-1

-x-4y=4

-3y=3

y=-1

Step 2: Solve for x

x+y=-1

x+(-1)=-1

x-1=-1

x=0

Step 3: Check your work

Notice that 0+-1=-1 check!

also 0+4(-1)=-4 Check!

Our order pair is (0,-1).
