(7/8)x - 3 + (1/4)x = (7/32)x + (1/8)
- I have been taught to multiply both complete sides by the lcd. So that is the route I have been trying to take. So this is what I am doing.
32 [(7/8)x - 3 + (1/4)x ] = 32 [(7/32)x + (1/8)] - - i keep getting x= 100/29
Thank you for your response. I am using http://www.webmath.com/ to double check my work and as it turns out, I entered in the equation wrong on the site so I was getting back a different answer. Thank you for your time. I just started using this site today and only now have realized that people are paying others for the help. What is the proper etiquette for this site. Is it not ok to expect to be able to ask basic math problem questions without paying? I am only in Pre-College Algebra. Either way thank you for double checking me.
