Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question! Hope your day is going well!

We are given that the L=3 3/5 and W=2 1/6.

The best thing to do, is to turn the mixed numbers into simple fractions. You can do this by doing

(coefficient x denominator + numerator)/ denominator.

L=3 x 5+3=18/5

W=2 x 6+1=13/6

Now multiply these two numbers (since we are multiplying, we do not need to worry about common denominators)

18/5 x 13/6=234/30 (simplify)

234/30=39/5 sq ft

Let's turn this back into a mixed number.

5 goes into 39,  7 times

39-35=4

So our mixed number is 7 4/5

Therefore that is our answer.

Area of the rectangle= 7 4/5 square ft.
