Introduction
The metropolitan museum is categorized to be at the top of the largest and well-known
museums in the world today. It displays a wide range of historical data that can be dated long back
before civilization and writing. The collections at the Metropolitan Museum are not limited to a
specific race of humans or times. Islamic culture, arts, and literature right to their way of living are
well represented in the museum. A large number of Islamic collections and artifacts claim
originality from both religious and secular items like ceramics, texture, and architecture. Some of
the Islamic artifacts found in the museum include Arabesque (Islamic calligraphy), Manuscripts
from the ancient blue Quran, and the charm amulets and talisman (Taweez) of the Islam fraternity
as it will be discussed after this. From that historical background, this paper aims at identifying and
describing the Islamic artworks and artifacts presented from the Islamic galleries at Metropolitan
Museum.
