Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

 gram = g

milligram =mg

kilogram =kg

1g = 1000mg,       but 1mg=1g/1000

1kg=1000g,          but 1g=1kg/1000

1kg=1000000mg,  but 1mg=1kg/1000000

To get milligram from grams you multiply grams by 1000

For example

If you have12 grams=12g

You want milligrams

multiply grams by 1000: 12 x 1000mg=12000mg, since g=1000mg

You have 12kilograms and you want convert to mg , multiply kilogram by 1000000

12kg=12x1000000mg=12000000mg, since kg=1000000mg

But if you have 12 mg

You want g, then divide by 1000

Also if you have 12g and you want kg you do the following

Does this help? if not please let me know, i can elaborate more.
