In the declaratory act it states that parliaments authority was the same in the American colonies as it was in England. This meant parliament could make any law for the colony it wished with no approval needed by the colonies. As for the relationship between the two, Great Britain would see the colonies as a money making colonial territory that it had complete law making power over.
