Running head; EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN
An experimental design is a way that scholarly articles use to plan experiments in a
unique way. The main purpose of coming up with experimental design is to ensure that the
results that are found is valid. The hypothesis that is developed at the beginning of the
experimental article influences the choice of the experimental design which will therefore after
affect the conclusion and the result. Apart from just the hypothesis, the variables involved in an
experiment might also affect the choice of design that will be used later in the experiment. In this
paper, we shall compare three experimental designs. Time-design experimental design, factorial
experimental design and post-test pretest control group experimental design. The focus of the
paper is to analyze how the three experimental designs have been exploited by different articles
so that those designs have influenced the hypothesis and the results as expected by the
researchers. The objectives of each experiment will vary according to the variation in the chosen
article. It is for this reason that the variables will also not be the same depending on the objective
of the results by each article.

The hypothesis of the research study;
Many pieces of literature have reported effective ways of teaching students with autism
appropriate behavior. In most of these pieces of literature, one of the most outstanding measures
recommended is social stories. This study, therefore, wanted to prove through experiment the
effects of social stories on appropriate social behavior. The study, therefore, compared two
formats of social story targets.
The two main targets of the story are a control group of children diagnosed with autism.
The result of the articles experiment; with statistical analysis of the two groups, group A
and group B, the research adequately confirmed the hypothesis. The group subjected to social
stories when tested later observed more emotional intelligence, they were also ready to interact
and communicate with the others quite freely. Having known that they are autistic these were
recorded as a positive social improvement. When compared to group B, It was then realized that
they exhibited the same observational behaviors as they did previously in the pre-test. The
experiment through the use of post-test pretest experiment had proven positive the hypothesis.
The experimental design chosen by the article is referred to as the two group control
group design. It is one of the designs under the pre-test post-test designs. Other designs not
explained include; Solomon four group, between subjects, within subjects and many others.
Pre-test experimental design has grown from the traditional form of the experiment
