Write an equation for a line passage through the midpoint A(-7,2) B(1,-6) perpendicular to line AB

Midpoint of A(-7,2) and B(1.-6) is ((-7+1)/2,(-6+2)/2) or (-3,-2)

slope of the line passing points A & B is m; where  m=(-6-2)/(1+7)=-8/8=-1

slope of perpendicular the line is n; where n=-1/m=1

Thus equation of line passing through midpoint (-3,-2) with slope n=1 is:

                  y+2=1(x+3)

                 or 

                    y=x+1

Therefore,a line passage through the midpoint A(-7,2) B(1,-6) perpendicular to line AB

                 y=x+1
