Without having to have fought a bloody, Civil War, the United States as a nation could
never have achieved westward expansion so quickly and successfully. I do agree with this
statement, it is indeed the aftermath of a civil war that produces intense development in the
United States due to tremendous achievement which came along with it. Expansion towards the
western territories led to the acquisition of natural resources, infrastructure for their trade and
cheap labor for the growth of their economy, thus enhancing their growth politically,
economically and socially.
