LEAN MODEL
The lean operating model is crucial to developing things in an enterprise so as satisfy
various groups of people and customers as well. The model allows for growth as it mainly
focused on the elimination of waste and improve on the margin. Therefore, a lean operating
model is a set of operating procedures set up by various organizations, so as to help in
minimizing waste and at the same time build on the customer value. The model is defined by six
principles which are core to its operation. These are; just in time, which aims at controlling the
production and improving the lead time. Stability is another principle that aims at building
excess the capacity for using strategically and standardization of the process for improvement;
there is built-in quality, aims at having zero defects, continuous assessment to improve
production. There is policy deployment that drives strategy into execution and future design form
the core principles of the lean model (Bicheno, 2016).
Therefore bringing all the principles that the model adheres to, together, they help define
value based on the customer’s perspective and provide the opportunity to learn how the same can
be improved. Similarly, these principles help us in evaluating and describing the steps a process
can take to deliver great customer experience. At the same time, they help in identifying ways of
