Statement of Work
A procurement statement of work contains “specifications, quality levels, quantity
desired and other requirements” of a project (Jainendrakumar, 2015). It goes a step further in
providing detailed information concerning the procured item thereby allowing potential bidders
and vendors to determine their capability in providing it. In the ADC project of procuring a
scheduling tool for standardizing project management, the following statement of work shall be
used.
Introduction
The ADC Scheduling Tool Project involves the purchasing, installation, and
configuration of the platform, training of project managers (PMs), acquisition of database
services, procurement of tool usage experts and decommissioning of the old scheduling tool.
ADC (ACME Development Corporation) is an established custom homes builder with
enterprises in many states. The Project Management Office (PMO) will oversee the project and
manage the standardization of the new tool. Its procurement department shall supervise the
solicitation and acquisition of items and services concerning the project. (Landau, 2018).
Purpose
ADC plans to standardize project management for all its PMs. The PMO will have the
ability to monitor their 40 project managers across the country. With a high level of autonomy,
they have been able to run their projects as they wish so long as the expenses are within the
budget constraints. ADC wants to purchase and install a real-time system that can offer PMO
centralized control over activities concerning these projects. By so doing, the company will have
the ability to account for expenses incurred and ensure the best options were used. Also, the

(Landau, 2018).
