Running Head: HISTORY 1 Adelanwa Oyekan History 103 North Park University AMERICAS HISTORY 2 Discussion Americas is a society comprising of the Caribbean, North, Central, and South America. The first immigrants to the Americas are believed to have migrated there from Asia. These were the hunters and gatherers who lived here till the European colonial rulers moved in and terrorized the first immigrants who were also know as the Native Americans. The Native Americans were killed by the Europeans reducing their population by a whole lot and their lands were also stolen. After the Europeans took over then began to civilize the continent, share various territories amongst themselves. till the arrival of the colonial conquerors who then led to the civilization of the people in the region (Bankston & Caldas 2015). The civilization of the Americas started after the emergence of the hunters and gatherers who settled in semi-agricultural societies. These communities hunted and gathered food for themselves. The people of this society had developed some technology, and they worshiped a common god. The community organized itself into groups which lived in small, but they all worshiped one similar symbol of god. Another feature of the complex civilization of this community is the government. The society had a government in the form of theocracy to help in the running of the community. The government ensured that the region was well managed, and the people worshiped their gods as required. Another aspect of civilization was the monumental architecture which was developed by society. There were earthworks and other crafts the marked the civilization of the community (Levin & Adair 2017). The visible components of the culture of the Americas were the rearing of maize which was grown in all parts of the region for their daily consumption together with other foods that they hunted and gathered from the forest. These people wore AMERICAS HISTORY 3 clothes made from animal skins they hunted, and they practiced the art of painting earthwork. The people also worshiped a common god in the region. There was no developed education system at the time of the Americas emergence since most of their learning was through observation. They also lived in small groups that hunted and gathered food. The joining of the Church and the state helps in creating a religious platform through which the morals and ethics of the leaders is kept in close supervision (Nirenberg, 2014). The Church also plays a vital role in steering the leaders towards making the right decisions for the country. The religious implications in politics are far-reaching and have been seen to help make a strong foundation in the leadership of a country. For example, the U.S has a strong value for the Church and most of the founding principles of the country are always aligned with the Church (Peel, 2015). The ongoing debate and controversy on abortion rights in the U.S has a strong connecting to the ideals or morals of the Church as according to the bible abortion or controlling one’s fertility can be considered sinful. The best way for countries with religious opposition to handle their differences is to apply the moral accord that dictate the right human behavior in solving conflicts. The countries should thus apply the basic law of morality and human consciousness in addressing their differences (Nirenberg, 2014). RELIGION 4 References Nirenberg, D. (2014).
