from a policy standpoint.
I would say that juror’s verdict to award Johnson $289 million in damages was
considerably good compensation but not fair. The plaintiff had a family that was depending on
him for their daily bread. Conversely, from chemical of Roundup he contracts terminal cancer,
which means that his family will not have anybody to fend for them (Yan, 2018). They are not
just going to be affected physically but also psychologically given the fact that they will lose
their father.
Does it make sense?
The amount by the jury does not seem fair as opposed to the amount that the judge cuts it
to which is fair for both plaintiff and defendants (Yan, 2018). The jury should be impartial on
