Volcanic Eruption and Disaster Management

Abstract
The volcano is simply the opening that gives way highly heated molten rocks to the
surface of the earth. These molten rocks cause serious damage. Today, exposure to volcanic
destruction is increasing with high rate mainly due to the high population growth. This research
will be conducted to bring awareness to the public regarding volcanoes. The research will be
based on the survey as well as the responses from people. The study will help in understanding
the current situation in the volcanic explosion and the best measures to undertake.
Introduction
On the Northern side of New Zealand, there are active volcanoes that exist, and its
eruption can happen at any time. The urban areas new volcanic areas should understand the risks
and destructions that can be caused by the volcanic activity in the region. The associated risks
can be mitigated through various ways including emergency management process. New Zealand
is just an example of the areas that are prone to volcanic destruction (Paton, Smith & Johnston,
2000). For instance, the damage and the fear that catastrophic eruption caused back in the year
1980 in Mount St. Helens cannot be ignored. This is a serious issue that is not paid much
attention by many researchers and that increases the human vulnerability to the volcanic
explosion.

regarding injury, displacement as well as mortality and finally identify the risks factors resulting
from these impacts.
