Motivation is a set of drives which awake the willingness and guide individuals towards a
goal-oriented behavior. As a management skill, Motivation is the most potent emotion managers
should provide to the employees. For example, think about having employees who are not
motivated to work. They may use most of the time in internet surfing for personal pleasure and
even searching for other jobs. This is much wastage of time and resources. However, this is
based on some employees. It is not something every employee would like to do. Therefore, the
employee’s performances are typically influenced by their intrinsic and extrinsic motivation
towards work (Waiyaki, 2017).
However, other factors such as ability and the working environment may relatively affect
employee’s performances. The management role in stimulating motivation is the crucial skill that
successful managers bring to the working environment. Generally, motivation may be
