A normal value for blood cholesterol is 200mg/dL of blood. If a normal adult has a total blood volume of 5L how much total cholesterol is present?

dL is short for deciliter (0.1 liter) so 1 liter = 10dL

Hence 5L = 50 dL

The amount of cholesterol present in a normal adult = 200 x 50 = 10000mg 

Now  1000 mg = 1g

So 10000mg = 10,000 mg =10g

Answer: 10 grams
