If one card is drawn from a deck, find the probability of getting the following result:

A 3 or an 8

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

There are 52 cards in a deck. There are 4 suits: Clubs, Hearts, Diamonds, and Spades. Each suit has one 3 and one 8.

Therefore, there are 2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8 ways to get a 3 or an 8, two ways for each suit.

If one card is chosen, it can be any one of 52, so there are 8 ways to get a 3 or an 8 out of the 52 ways to get a card. So, the probability of getting a 3 or an 8 from a single draw from a 52 card deck is:

8/52 = (2 * 4) /(13 * 4) = 2/13.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.
