TA&MIU Sanitation & Safety Organizational Knowledge Management Capability Essay
Follow the guidance in the text and the example below and draft a research problem statement paragraph for your chosen area of research interest. The problem statement is a paragraph that begins with "The problem to be addressed in this study is." Add 3-4 supporting sentences that follow the problem. Use references supporting your statement. This example is from the area of Knowledge Management, but focus on the paragraph structure and format. Here's an example: The problem to be examined in this proposed study is that managers of aerospace organizations do not have an adequate understanding of organizational knowledge management capability (KMC) because associated factors and areas have not been verified. This lack of understanding leads to inefficient application of organizational knowledge, which is argued to be the most important strategic resource (Tsoukas, 2005). Therefore, various aspects of this problem will be evaluated, including knowledge, knowledge management processes, and organizational culture. Furthermore, Turner and Makhija (2006) recommended employing quantitative methods to examine this area. This recommendation lends support to the use of a previously developed KMCA in a new type of organization in order to improve understanding of this subject area. Organizations are currently developing processes and programs to deal with the need to manage knowledge (Robles-Flores & Kulkarni, 2005).

Nutrition discussion Q&A
Please make sure you complete your readings before you do this section as you will be asked to incorporate information from the readings in this discussion. I have tried to provide you both sides of the story on this topic but my 20 years of research has lead me to my conclusions on the safety of these foods and I have a very hard time being neutral on this topic. The recent law suits against Monsanto have provided public details about some of the tactics Monsanto has used to skew the science and safety data surrounding the GMO's and chemicals associated with the crops but this will be discussed in a later discussion.Topic #1This video is somewhat inflammatory and definitely biased but Jeffery Smith backs everything he says with science and research.Genetic RouletteGenetic Roulette The Gamble of Our Lives (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.1. What are some examples of the GMO crops discussed on the video?2. Based on this video and the process used to make the GMO's, is this process safe? Why or why not?3. Do you feel the government has adequately protecting the public in determining whether GMO's are safe for the food system? Please give at least 3 examples to support your answer from the video.4. What is BT and how is it associated with GMO crops? Is it safe? (please support your answers with information from the video)5. What are the specific health issues associated with GMO's in the video (please give 3 specific examples that can be recognized from the video)?6. According to the video, is nutrition affected in the GMO crops? How is this affecting the entire food system?7. How are the GMO's affecting animals? Please support your answer with examples from the video.8. Have GMO's increased yields as was promised according to this video?9. In terms of world hunger, what are the ramifications of GMO's in both India and Africa? Please give specific examples in both areas to support your answer.10. What are the primary GMO crops? What is the best way to avoid them?(by the way, the bill to label GMO's failed by a very small margin but the biotech companies spent 45 million dollars as opposed to the 5 million spent by the pro label advocates.Topic #2This topic is combining all of the information together so please be prepared to speak to readings 26 through 30 when answering the questions below.https://vimeo.com/45691238 (Links to an external site.)Links to an external site.1. How is globalization affecting our relationship with the world? (use examples from the video).2. Should corporations own our food? Grossmont College Anthropology Early Human Migrations Discussion
The fossil and genomic record tell us that our species originated in Africa around 200,000 years ago (These numbers might now go back further). The first 100,000 years were spent in Africa and soon after our species began to expand into different world regions.
What you are doing
Your task will be to explore the complex fossil and genetic history of modern humans as they left Africa for the first time.
For this webquest you will only be able to choose one of the following world regions:
The Americas (you will be including both North and South)
Europe
All the above world regions have complicated population histories that are the result of a number of populations that have come together to form the present population. What insight do genomic studies of ancient fossils and modern populations give us in reference to the number of founding populations that form your chosen world region?
Before you begin your task make sure you read the following items.
Use the following links to help you with your webquest.
Native American Genetics (Links to an external site.)
European Genetics (Links to an external site.) (Links to an external site.)
What you have to do for points
All of the assigned world regions are composed of multiple Homo sapiens populations that arrived at different times to the current world region that you are exploring. What do genomic studies of ancient fossils and modern populations give us in reference to the number of founding populations of your chosen world region and what does the data say about when the different populations arrived?
Make sure you give citations
