 According to the functionalist perspective, what would happen to society if one of its institutions - say, the education system - were to break down?

all parts of the institutions in a society must work together in order to satisfy the homeostasis. this means, each part contributes to the entire system, so logically, each component of the society must have a positive contribution so as to maintain an equilibrium. That way, its considered a functional system. so in case there is shutdown of one of these institutions, the others will be affected in a negative way causing imbalance.
