Carbonate sedimentary rocks have a reservoir mass of 40 million Gt ( C ). Sedimentation and burial provide an influx of inorganic carbon of 0.2 Gt ( C ) /year,  while volcanism (at 0.03 Gt ( C ) /year) and carbonate weathering ( at 0.17 Gt ( C ) /year) provide outflows of Carbon in this steady state cycle.
