Ebola virus is an illness that affects not only people but also non-human primates.
Non-human primates are monkeys, gorillas and chimpanzees ("Ebola Virus Causes,
Symptoms, Treatment, History & Vaccine," n.d.). The disease is caused by a group of viruses
called the ebolavirus. They are divided into different subgroups Tai forest, Sudan, Ebola and
Bundibugyo viruses. Leishmaniasis is a disease caused by the Leishmania parasite. The
parasite mostly lives in infected sand files. One gets infected with the disease after the
