Select a System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) model and methodology then apply this model and methodology to a project using the Information Technology (IT) specialization you wrote about in your Week 3 paper (data protection paper that we did last week) Be sure to define the SDLC model and methodology and identify which SDLC step is associated with each project component. The paper must following the formatting guidelines in The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (2010), (6th ed., 7th printing), and contain a title page, five scholarly references, three to five pages of content, and a reference page

Waterfall Model & Methodology: Application in Data Protection Software Development Project
There exist many software development life cycle (SDLC) models today, including
waterfall, V-model, and spiral. Professionals or organizations developing software are thus faced
with the task of picking the ideal SDLC model for their project by considering aspects of
convenience, flexibility, and their requirements. Each of the models and its accompanying
methodology has unique characteristics and benefits accrued from their use. Nevertheless, the
waterfall model and methodology has been deemed as the most ideal approach to a data
protection software development project in which all variables are known beforehand, and there
is no possibility of the parameters changing.
The waterfall model is a sequential development model in which the requirements of the
project should be clear before the design process can begin. Progress flows downwards, like a
waterfall, through several phases towards the end of the project (Balaji & Murugaiyan, 2012). In
this model, each of the phases must be executed and completed to allow progress to the next
phase, as the product of one phase acts as the input for the subsequ...
