Professor Fullerton was demonstrating the ease of making a bar graph using information about students' home states. He was amazed that his class of 32 represented only 3 states. There were 8 more students born in Texas than were born in Oklahoma. The number of students born in Arizona was 9 fewer than the number born in Oklahoma. How many were born in each state?

Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

let the students from oklahoma = x

texas = x+8

arizona = x-9

total =32

x+x+8+x-9 = 32

3x-1=32

3x=32+1

3x=33

x=33/3

x=11

oklahoma= 11

texas = 11+8 = 19

arizona = 11-9 = 2
