Description
As part of a study designed to test the safety of automobiles, the National Transportation agency collected and reviewed data about the effects of crashes on test dummies. Cars with dummies in front seats where crashed into a wall at 35 mph. We want to know the proportion of dummies in the drivers seat that would have head injuries, if they had been actual drivers. We start with a random sample of 75 cars.
What is the population, sample, parameter, statistic, variable, and data of this problem?
Explanation & Answer
Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!
Population- cars with dummies in the front seats crashed into the wall
Sample- 75 cars
Parameter= population proportion P =proportion of dummies in the drivers seat that would have head injuries
statistic- sample proportion p= sample proportion of dummies in the drivers seat that would have head injuries= x/75
variable,x= number of dummy drivers with head injuries
data- effects of crashes on test dummies- with or without head injuries.
