Part 1: Data
I was awakened by the loud banging of the front gate that led to the swimming pool. I
was dead sure that I had attended the gate and locked it appropriately as it was part of my
evening routine before I could go and rest at the verandah facing the main field. As a janitor
working in a small institution in town, my duties as the security officer at night were very much
structured and almost every day involved doing the same things that I had done the previous day.
My shift usually began at 6 pm onwards till dawn, when the preceding officer would come to
relieve me the task of keeping Yorkshire Academy safe from intruders and other unwanted
infiltrations. My day started off with locking the classrooms after the students had left the school,
finishing the locking process with the teacher’s staffroom and lastly the gate the led to both the
basketball court and the swimming pool.
