The Alternate hypothesis is the claim that some treatment has an impact on the outcome (usually an improvement or adverse effect).
In the study by Senn, the null hypothesis is that the Resistance to Sexual Assault program has no effect on the percentage of rapes/ attempted rapes suffered by first year female university students .
The alternate Hypothesis is that the Resistance to Sexual Assault program significantly reduces the percentage of rapes/ attempted rapes suffered by first year female university students .
(In this study, the alternate hypothesis was accepted).
