Description

For Essay 4, return to Essay 2 (Narration) and rethink it as a cause and effect essay. You explored an event and the buildup to it. But what caused that event to happen? And what was the effect or aftermath? Extend your essay by explaining the story in terms of cause and effect, and leave the narrative in place, possibly as a long introduction to the analysis you'll perform to explain causes and effects. As you are working, take my feedback on your Essay 2 project and use it to create a new layer of descriptive detail so your described item is crystal clear and specific to your reader. This essay should be at least 750 words, and I expect you to correct all sentence level grammar issues I marked in my personal feedback.

Fan 1 Jiangnan Fan Professor Harris, P ENG 1101 February 18, 2019 The Best Summer of my Childhood Every Chinese student looks forward to summer when there is no school, and they get to engage in the fun activities they look ahead to. While this description sounds like summer is all fun in swimming pools and endless fascinating activities, most of my childhood summers were just long boring stays with my grandparents at Nan Tong, JiangSu. Everyone who knows JiangSu well will confess that it is not the liveliest place in the world, but it worked just fine because my parents emphasized the value of family, and I had to stay with my grandparents to ‘build a bond’ with them. Summers were, in fact, horrible for me, and I could not wait to go back to school, but that changed the summer I spent with my cousin Billy. The one summer which I spent with Billy, who is a few years older than me, is the best childhood memory I have. My summer with Billy happened almost by accident. This summer was not going to be any different from the rest. My mother had earlier on packed the suitcase for me, and my father, always impatient with the way we prepared to leave, was waiting in the driveway. As I walked down the stairs to the front yard, I felt the urge to say no to this trip. Living at my grandparents’ house was like a long school day down in Nan Tong. In one hour, we had already beaten the traffic and were out of town in the long stretch to my prison-like destination for the next three weeks. It happens that luck was on my side this summer, and nature answered my request just at the right time. When we were a few kilometers past Qi Fan 2 Dong, our Volvo acted up. The mechanic said it was a major engine problem, and the cooling fan had also failed. It would take at least a day before it was repaired. Luckily, Billy’s home was in Qi Dong; how opportune! Billy’s parents were the opposite of mine, and they were less conservative and more outgoing. That night, we played PS4 until midnight because according to them, it was summer, and no one should care what time we woke up. The following day, our car was already repaired and ready for the journey to Nan Tong. Then, the rebellious part of me that I had never discovered started the best summer of my childhood. I told my mother that I did not like it down at Nan Tong. Though l did not like it before, I had no courage to say it to my parents. Maybe living in the bedroom with billy , and who gives me the ‘power’. He let me know what is the really thing that I want, and how to try my best to get it. Life is myself , and I have the responsibility to make me happy. There are a large number of things will happen in my rest of life, l do not know what is the best choice to the things, but l support the selection which make relax is the best. Luckily, my uncle, Billy’s father, was on my side. ‘Yeah, why can’t he stay around for a couple of weeks and you pick him when you are back from ShangHai?’he said. That was the magical statement that earned me the rest of the summer. In that summer i did not need to think other things, for example whether my parents were angry or whether it was good for my studies. Freedom is a wonderful thing, and billy took me to try some thing I had never experienced. My summer with Billy was filled with all kind of things I wanted as a child. Most of the summer was spent playing PS4, swimming, camping, and playing pinball. My best summer memory is due to the change that happened that summer. I moved from spending time cooped up in Nan Tong with my grandparents to spending most of the day playing Fan 3 with my new best friend Billy. The car problem allowed me to not only step up my summer activities but also make a new friend whom we have been close since then. The last but not least, he let me know what is life, life is that never force myself, and make the greatest efforts to have a day of happiness. I support it will accompany me until the end of my life. 21:391 < Back Essay 4: Revision and Expansio... The Best Summer of my Childhood that Changed My Life
Every Chinese student looks forward to summer when there is no school, and they
get to engage in the fun activities they look ahead to. However, my early childhood was
very different and at first, I didn't experience the fun during summer as the other kids did.
This was because I mostly stayed with grandparents at Nan Tong, JiangSu during most of
my summer holidays. Of course, my grandparents were not the most fun people to be
around as a child who needed to have adventures and have fun during school holidays.
Everyone who knows JiangSu well will confess that it is not the liveliest place in the world,
but it worked just fine because my parents emphasized the value of family, and I had to
stay with my grandparents to ‘build a bond’ with them. However, this boredom changed
