How did living conditions in cities change during the Second Industrial Revolution?

With many people migrating to be near the industries they had been employed, people settled in places where they saw as having ample resources, thus congestion.

In the first 60 years of industrial revolution,  skilled workers formed middle - class, having their own garden and tending to their animals and a cottage to call a home.

Though the cities were overcrowded, fashion emerged and the houses were well furnished.
