Thank you for the opportunity to help you with your question!

A leap year is a year with 29 days in the month of February. Normally, a year usually has three hundred and sixty five and a quarter days with February having 28 days. A leap year usually has 366 days and comes after every four years which is usually the time taken by the earth to go round the sun. Thus, a leap year occurs once the earth completes the cycle. A leap is also divisible by four.

Please let me know if you need any clarification. I'm always happy to answer your questions.

A leap year occurs once the earth complete the cycle. By this, i mean that the earth takes 365 1/4 days to complete one orbit round the sun. Four consecutive years makes makes an extra day thus completing a leap year cycle. If asked whether any year is a leap year, then the simplest way to know is to divide the given year by 4. It the remainder is 0, then its is a leap year. For instance, the year 2000 was a leap year since 2000/4 gives 500 without any remainder. Thus a leap year is divisible by 4.
