BACKGROUND
• Physical security can be seen as protective
measures undertaken with aims of protecting
important documents (Thota, 2018)
• Databases are data collected and stored
electrically.
• Biometrics can be used as a protective measure
employed to protect data from hackers and
unauthorized hands.
BIOMETRICS
• Biometric authentication uses physical or behavioral
human characteristics to digitally identify a person(Evans,
2015).
• The oldest form of biometric verification is
fingerprinting.
• It basically involves 4 processes:
• Capture
• Matcher
• Action

BIOMETRICS ROLE
• Proper knowledge of the data being protected can improve
the standards as it is easier to increase security measures.
• Biometrics inspects data and only allows genuine
information in and out of system(Thota, 2018)
• Biometric systems provide more accurate identification,
lowering your risk of unwanted breaches.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
• There is a need to protect databases which carry
