A crate of eggs is located in the middle of the flatbed of a pickup trucks as the truck negotiates a curve in the float road. The curve may be regarded as an arc of a circle of radius 35.0 m. If the coefficient of static friction between crate and truck is 0.600, how fast can the truck be moving without the crate sliding?

The maximum friction force is

μ*m*g

(μ is the friction coefficient, m is the mass ang g is the gravity acceleration).

The force related with the moving along a circle is

m*a = m*V^2/R

(a is the acceleration, V is the speed and R is radius).

μ*m*g = m*V^2/R,
μ*g = V^2/R,
V^2 = μ*g*R,
V = sqrt(μ*g*R).

Here V = sqrt(0.6*9.8*35) = sqrt(205.8) = approx. 14.35 (m/s).
