A number of legislative issues are being
considered for policy adoption although with great resistance. One of such
issues in the U.S today is the issue of legalizing marijuana in all states. Although
some states like Washington, Alaska, Colorado and Oregon, the other many states
are still considering the issue for policy adoption. But should marijuana be
legalizing through a policy in all U.S state s as it is in some states?
The proponents of this argument argue that legalizing
this drug will create a source of income to both the private individuals and
the government. This cannot however, be doubted as it is quite true. Nevertheless,
the opponents of this argue that legalizing marijuana will make many people be
addicted which can take away some of the most active workforce. In my opinion,
legalizing this substance will not have such an impact given that people can
get it even when it is illegal. To be sincere, state governments should adopt
this as part of its policies and forget the headache of using a lot of
resources in fighting the use of the drug instead reaping huge benefits through
