First find the total number of males by adding across the rows:

Total males =  72 + 81 + 5 = 158

Now find the total number of females by adding across the rows:

Total females =  103 + 68  + 7 = 178

Also total  number  of people asked = 158 + 178  = 336

1. Now for the questions

Female = 178 

Favors the issue (male) = 72

 Hence P(female or favors issue) = (178 + 72)/ 336 = 250/336  =125/ 168

2. male = 158

against the issue (female) = 68

Hence P( male or against issue) = (158 + 68)/ 336 = 226/336 = 113/ 168
