Samiksha, (2019) defines motivation in an organisation as the act of stimulating inducing and
inspiring employees and stakeholder to make them perform their best. From the definition, we
can say that motivation comes automatically from inside the employees and willingness to do
specific work. Whereas, an article by Management study (2019), defines motivation as the
process of understanding the need of everyone in an organisation and utilise the motives
everyone has. There are various methods and techniques used to motivate employees in a firm.
These are pay bonuses and promotion. This essay explains the importance of motivation as a
management skill in an organisation.
To begin with, motivation as a management skill improves the performance level of an
organisation. The efficiency of a single person in a firm is determined by the willingness of the
same person to do the work. However, it is essential for a manager to differentiate between
his/her employees’ willingness and ability. Managers should be aware that the strength of
employees to do specific work is obtained from training and education. Well motivated
