INTRODUCTION

No doubt the world’s population is aging. There is an increase in the number of older persons
who compose a growing part of the populace in each country. Population aging is defined as a
historic result of declining rates of mortality and fertility posing a significant effect. When
longevity increases so do the mean age by increasing the numbers of surviving older groups. On
the other hand, a decrease in fertility decreases the number of infants, in turn, the number of
younger age groups declining as the effect prevails. Population aging can also be described as a
shift in the allocation and division of a nation’s population towards older ages. Usually, it
reflects an increase in the populace man and Middle Ages, a decrease in the proportion of
children composing population and a growth in the portion of the elderly make-up population.
Although its advancement is mostly in first world countries, today it rapidly grows in the third
world and developing countries indicating that the concentration of older groups will increase in
these nations and that globally there is a rise in life expectancy and the aging population..
